Toyota Tour Cup Soule Park/Ojai Valley Inn

November 7-8, 2020

OJAI, California | Soule Park Golf Course hosted the Toyota Tour Cup again and did not disappoint! This beautiful layout will test your abilities, but still allows you to score. Even in the cold, windy, rainy conditions, the boys field still managed to post good numbers. Nearly a quarter of the field finished under par for the weekend. However, it was Francis Catalano who got it going early on Sunday making the turn six under-par and was in the lead by one at the halfway point. He kept the momentum going and posted an early -8 and was the clubhouse leader by three strokes and had to wait nearly an hour to see if it would hold. Carson Kim was -7 going into the 18th hole and had an eagle putt to win outright. That putt would just slide by for a tap-in birdie to force a playoff. Francis and Carson would face off on the par-4 17th. After both boys made par on 17, they continued on to the par-5 18th. Catalano found the green in two, but Kim was in the penalty area, but was able to make a swing on it. Kim came up just short on his third and needed to hole his pitch shot to have any chance.  With a crowd looking on, his pitch shot one-hopped into the flag stick, danced on the lip of the cup, but stayed out leaving the door open for Catalano to tap-in his birdie putt for the win. Daniel Heo took solo third at -5.

Congratulations, Francis on your first TTC Victory!

For the Girls Championship, Yurang Li lead after the first round at Even par with seven other girls within two shots. It was a tight one coming down the stretch, as Jasmine Koo stepped up to the moment and birdied the final hole to shoot a stellar 66 and capture her 2nd TTC victory at -3, continuing a outstanding year thus far! Yurang Li finished one back with solid rounds of 70-68, followed by Emily Lee with a comeback 67 to finish in 3rd at Even par total.
