Toyota Tour Cup at Desert Willow Golf Resort

PALM DESERT, CA | The Toyota Tour Cup traveled back to the desert to compete on the Firecliff Course at Desert Willow Golf Resort. The weather was hot and so were the scores! Several top college scouts were in attendance and saw some quality golf over the weekend! 18 boys posted rounds of even par or better in round one led by Eric Doyle posting a stellar -6, 66! However, it was anyone’s game as five others were within two strokes. It was a similar result through day one with Elina Kuang leading the way at -4, and nine others at even par or better.

At the halfway point through Sunday’s final round, it was a very tight race with four girls sharing the lead at -2 and six boys at -6 or better and would likely come down to the final putt to determine the champions.  The low round of the day for the Girl’s Championship came from Blayne Brown firing an impressive -4, 68.  Caroline Wales, Alyson Sor, and Kaila Elsayegh each posted rounds of even par or better and finished in a tie for 2^nd place, but when the final putt dropped, it was Emiko Sverduk posting consecutive 70’s to capture her first career TTC title at -4! The Boys Championship had solid scores posted as well with the low round of the day shared by Dalin Piao and Greyson Leach each posting -5, 67’s finishing at -6 and -7, respectively. However, Eric Doyle held steady going wire-to-wire posting a -3, 69 finishing at -9 for the Championship also claiming his first career TTC victory!
