Players Tour 2-Day at The Golf Club at Rancho California
November 21-22, 2020
MURRIETA, California – The last 2-Day of the Series was hosted by the Golf Club at Rancho California, with 5 TTC exemptions on the line, players were scrambling to secure a few points before the close of 2020.
The first round of the event posed a challenge to the players. The average score for the boys was an 82 and the girls were close behind at 83. Gavin Loughran was the only player to put up a red number, shooting 71. In the hunt were Liam Hartling at even, and Francis Bautista and Griffin Rhoads at 1-over for the day. For the girls’ division, Lauren Kim took the lead at 3-over and Brynn Kort and Ashley Ding were close behind at 5-over.
There was definitely a Fall chill in the air for our final round. Fighting through the cold, morning temperatures Brynn Kort from Kingman, Arizona was able to secure a Runner-Up trophy and Hannah Ulibarri shot a 2-over 74 to force a play-off with Lauren Kim. After a two-hole play-off, Lauren Kim birdied #18 to take home the win.
William Ma shot an even 72 to tie for 3rd with Peter Hu (+6) and Francis Bautista (+6). Griffin Rhoads (+5) was also able to force a playoff with Gavin Loughran (+5) for the Champion title. After a single play-off hole, Griffin Rhoads was able to secure the win.
