Players Tour 2-Day at Industry Hills Golf Club

City of Industry, CA | July 13 & 14, 2020

The 2-Day Series at Industry Hills has crowned another Champion as the race for the end of the year Toyota Tour Cup exemptions continues. With blue skies and heated temperatures, 48 boys and 32 girls battled it out at the challenging Zaharias Babe Course at Industry Hills.

The Zaharias Babe course offered many rewarding challenges for players with its tight fairways and slippery greens. After round one, the overall field scoring average was 83.03. For the boys division, only two players came in at +1, Dustin Miller and Ian Bruchhauser. Both players were tied for first going into round two, while Patrick Lagura was solo third at +3. For the girls division, Lauren Lee, Los Angeles, led after day one at +3. Trailing first place, Ka Hei Kong and Amanda Reanne De Jesus both were tied for second at +4 going into day two.

Cooler weather and mild winds brought lower scores day two, as the overall scoring average was 82.40. At the turn, Kevin Hikichi and Alex Wu were tied for first at +5. In the end, Hikichi took the lead shooting the lowest score of the tournament with a 72. Wu and Ian Bruchhauser tied for second taking the runner-up positions. After posting the lowest score of the day for the girls with a 74, Elise Lee tied Ka Hei Kong for first place. After a nail biting one hole playoff, Lee and Kong both missed the green on their approach shots leaving two short sided chip shots. In the end, Kong made her par putt to take the victory. Kylee Gregory finished in outright third. Congratulations to all our winners!
