Players Tour 2-Day Summer Series at Pala Mesa Golf Resort

FALLBROOK, California – That’s a wrap for the third Players Tour 2-day Summer Series! This week unexpected showers rolled in early Monday morning, with overcast skies setting over the beautiful Pala Mesa Resort until Tuesday afternoon. Pala Mesa tested our Junior Golfers and forced accuracy off the tee to tight fairways and consistent putting speeds on slopey greens.

With rainy conditions early Monday morning, round one was led by Elliot Dong with a solid 1-over par 72 and Connor Herrera with a 2-over par 73. Dylan Lee and Henry Mariscal both posted 2-over par 74’s to chase Dong and Herrera going into the final round. In the end, Dante Lazare jumped up the leaderboard with a second round 69 to tie Connor Herrera with a two-day total of +2. After a sudden death playoff, Herrera came out victorious with an eagle on the 10th hole from 70 yards to claim his first 2-day Series victory! Jacob Zhang and Dylan Lee tied for 3rd with a two-day total of 7-over par.

Emily Song led round one for the girls with an even par 72, followed by Annie Weng with a 1-over par 73. Kacey Ly and Jessica Wang both posted 2-over par 74’s to tie for third headed into the final round. Weng overall took third place with a two-day total of +5 and Claire Zhong moved up the leaderboard to take home second place at +3. Kacey Ly catapulted up the leaderboard firing a final round 4-under par to move to first place and also claim her first 2-day Series victory! What a finish!
