Players Tour 2-Day at St. Mark Golf Club

Fresh out of “June gloom,” sunny and warm skies smiled down on the second event in the 2-Day Series at St. Mark Golf Club this past Monday and Tuesday. The event consisted of 48 boys and 30 girls looking to accumulate as many points as possible for the year end Toyota Tour Cup exemption.
The shorter course at St. Mark may appear easier at first glance, but a few narrow fairways and a couple long par 4’s make it secretly challenging. After round one, only two players remained in the red numbers, Logan Miyamoto and Francis Bautista. Both players were tied for first at 1-under. Ken Shibata was the nearest competitor at 1-over.
For the girls, 2026 grad Lisa Herman was leading the pack at 1-over and Jude Lee and Joshlyn Ayala were in a close second at 2-over. Lisa was able to hold onto her lead by shooting 1-over again, finishing as the Champion at 2-over par for the event. Jude Lee finished in second at 5-over and Kaili Xiao and Yerim Yi tied at third with 6-over for the two days.
Charlie Lovett had two birdies and two bogies to shoot even par to lift him into third place with 2-over par for the tournament. Steven Chung birdied the last hole to force Francis Bautista into a playoff. After 3 holes of pars on both sides, Francis stuck his approach shot to a couple of feet on the fourth hole to secure a birdie and a win.
