Players Tour 2-Day at Olivas Links
Ventura, CA – October 24th & 25th, 2020
Overcast skies and windy conditions did not scare this group of players at the Players Tour 2-Day Series hosted at Olivas Links Golf Course. With the end of the year Toyota Tour Cup exemptions on the line, 54 boys and 29 girls battled it out on this scorable and rewarding links golf course this past Saturday and Sunday.
After round one, many birdie opportunities were taken as there were eight players in the red numbers to complete day one. Zoe Sprecher led the girls at -2 with a two-stroke lead over Yermin Yi going into the final round. For the boys, four players were tied for first at -2 and three players tied for second at -1.
As the wind picked up during round two, the links course became a bit more challenging. As a result, Yermin Yi finished strong and posted another even par round to take home her second 2-Day Series victory this year! Congratulations to Lauren Lee, Irvine, CA, and Derica Chiu for posting an overall tournament score of +2, to finish tied for runner-up. Benjamin Battye posted another under par round for this tournament to also claim his second 2-Day Series victory this year! Congratulations to Brenden Borck and Justin Gill for posting an overall tournament score of -2, to finish tied for runner-up.
