2021 SCPGA Junior Tour Award Winners

The SCPGA Junior Tour Virtual Banquet of Champions is dedicated to celebrating the past season’s accomplishments while recognizing not only those players who have excelled on the course, but also the people and organizations who have supported junior golf.  Below you will find the list of champions from the 2021 season!

CLUB AWARD – MORONGO GOLF CLUB AT TUKWET CANYON
In 1984, the Club Award was created to acknowledge and thank clubs/organizations who have demonstrated outstanding support for junior golf and the SCPGA Junior Tour.

 

FOUNDATION AWARD – PATRICK HONG & ALYSON SOR
Beginning in 1999, the SCPGA Foundation has annually recognized a junior golfer who exemplifies outstanding character, sportsmanship, and leadership. The recipient of this award has demonstrated a positive influence on their fellow SCPGA Junior Tour Members and has set a notable example for all others to emulate.

 

LOU BASTANCHURY AWARD – JONNY LIU
This award was established in 1989, after Lou Bastanchury for his dedication to junior golf. The award is given to the boy who earned the most combined Player of the Year Points throughout the year.

 

AMY ALCOTT AWARD – EMILY SONG
The Amy Alcott Award is given to the girl who earned the most combined Player of the Year Points throughout the year. During Alcott’s 27-year career she won 32 professional tournaments worldwide including five major championships. Alcott is a member of the LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame.

 

TOYOTA TOUR CUP PLAYER OF THE YEAR –  ELISE LEE & JOSHUA KOO
The TTC Player of the Year is awarded to the boy and girl with the most player of the year points at the end of the season.

 

Girls Division

1st Place Points – Elise Lee

  • Won the TTC at Native Oaks with rounds of 66, 68
  • 6 runner up finishes and 11 finishes inside the top 5
  • In 16 events she only had one finish outside of the top 10
  • Scoring average of 71.55 
  • In 31 total rounds she shot par or better 20 times

2nd Place PointsAlice Ziyi Zhao

  • 3 Toyota Tour Cup wins including the Jr. PGA Section Championship
  • 11 finishes inside the top 5
  • In 15 events she only had one finish outside the top 7

3rd Place PointsJasmine Koo

  • 3 Toyota Tour Cup wins including the TTC Championship
  • 9 finishes inside the top 5 in 11 tournaments played
  • In 21 total rounds she had 13 rounds of par or better

 

Boys Division

1st Place Points – Joshua Koo

  • Won the TTC at Palm Desert Resort with a final round (course record) 62
  • 3 runner up finishes 
  • In 12 events he had 9 top 10 finishes
  • Scoring average of 70.12
  • In 23 total rounds he shot par or better 19 times

2nd Place PointsLuciano Conlan

  • 2 runner up finishes in 8 tournaments
  • 5 finishes inside the top 5 
  • In 16 total rounds he shot par or better 11 times with 7 rounds in the 60’s

3rd Place PointsJay Leng Jr

  • 4 Toyota Tour Cup wins in 7 tournaments
  • 11 rounds under par including 9 rounds in the 60’s
  • Howard Smith Award winner (lowest scoring average on TTC; 69.57)

 

HOWARD SMITH AWARD – JAY LENG JR & FRANCES KIM
The Howard Smith Award is presented to the boy and girl Junior Golfers who retain the lowest scoring average within the TTC series with a minimum of (4) events played.

  • 14 total rounds on the Toyota Tour Cup in 2021
  • 11 rounds under par including 9 rounds in the 60’s
  • Finished under par in 6 out of 7 tournaments  
  • Low round of 66 (4 times)

Frances Kim

  • Scoring average of 70.25
  • 8 total rounds in Toyota Tour Cup in 2021
  • 6 rounds of par or better including 4 rounds in the 60’s
  • Winner of 2 TTC Patrick Cantlay Series Invitationals including the overall Series Championship

 

CURTIS CUP AWARD – ANNA DAVIS & LUKE POTTER
The player receiving the most number of votes from the All Southern California Junior Teams ballot becomes the Curtis Cup Player of the Year.
