2021 International Championship

July 6-8, 2021 | Oak Valley Golf Club

BEAUMONT, California – Another beautiful week at Oak Valley Golf Club! Thank you to Huey Yu, Owner, Eric Chen, General Manager and Brandon Harris, Assistant Golf Professional & Tournament Coordinator for hosting this event and supporting our Junior Golfers. Also thank you to all our players, families, and international players for traveling and competing in the International Championship and for your great play this week!

The International Championship at Oak Valley not only challenged players physically with a tough walking course with many elevation changes, but also mentally as players faced gusty winds and heated temperatures all week long.

A total of 6 players in the boys division fired red numbers in round one alone. After round one Dalin Piao led the boys posting a solid 5-under par 67. He had four birdies and one eagle to take the lead by two-strokes going into round two. Trailing at 3-under was Taehyun Kim and Ronny Zheng. For the girls, Lauren Kim led round one with a solid even par round. Cindy Yang and Cristen Legaspi followed tied for second at one-over par.

Round two brought new challenges as winds began to pick up!For the girls, Vivian Chuang catapulted from tied for sixth after round one to leading after round two at +4 total. Trailing Emily Song jumped from tied for sixth to second place and Lana Yamagata trailed at +6 in third place. For the boys, Dalian Piao again came out firing, posting a 1-under round to remain in the lead by one stroke. Ronny Zheng and Timothy Jung both posted 2-under par rounds chasing Piao going into the final round.

After round three, Timothy Jung fired a 6-under 66 to take home the first place victory moving up the leaderboard! Taehyun Kim posted another red number, 5-under 67, to take home the second place trophy. Jason Flory fired a last round 6-under 66 to move up the final leaderboard, tying Joshua Koo and Dalin Piao for third place.

For the girls, Lauren Kim posted a final round 4-under to move up the final leaderboard by 20 spots (including ties). After a nail biting sudden death playoff between Lauren Kim and Lana Yamagata, Kim took outright first place with a birdie on her second playoff hole to take home the victory! Yamagata took outright second place and Ting-Hsuan Huang and Vivian Chuang tied for third.
