2-Day Summer Series #1 at Redhawk

June 23-24, 2021

We kicked off the 2-Day Summer Series with a bit of rain during our first round. Our host, Redhawk Golf Course, sets up players for a challenging round regardless of rain or shine.  This is evident in the scoring average for the day, which was 82 for both the boys and girls.

However, we had two players walk off the course on Wednesday, both in red numbers. Eric Cheng (Murrieta) and Ashley Shaw (Litchfield Park, AZ) both posted a 1-under, 71 for round one. Jinuk Choi (Buena Park) was one shot back at even and Eston Kallins (Newport Beach) sat in third at 1-over.  Cydney Ha (Las Vegas, NV) was close behind at even par and Annie Weng (San Juan Capistrano) posted a 1-over score.

Nathan Yoo (Anaheim) was able to shave a few strokes on round 2 and shot a 2-over 74 to take home the third-place trophy. Joshua Chen (Diamond Bar) posted scores of 74, 73 to take home runner-up and Jinuk Choi was able to steal the day with his scores of 72, 74 for the champion’s trophy. Emily Song (Irvine) followed up her 73 with an even par 72 to take home the third-place trophy and Annie Weng and Lisa Herman (Stevenson Ranch) found themselves in a sudden-death playoff for first. After 3-holes, Lisa Herman took home the trophy, her third 2-Day of the year!
