Players Tour 2-Day Spring Series #3 at Oak Valley Golf Club

March 20-21, 2021

Foggy mornings and windy afternoons presented tough conditions this past weekend at the third Players Tour 2-day Spring Series event hosted at Oak Valley Golf Club. Lengthy weather delays, windy conditions, and speedy greens brought new challenges for these Players Tour Members, resulting in an overall scoring average of 82 for the boys and 81 for the girls.

After a 20-minute fog delay during round one and continuous foggy conditions the weather lightened up with bright sunny skies on Saturday afternoon. Concluding round one, Zhengfei Richard Han led the boys with a solid 73 and close behind was Nathan Yoo and Taeyun Kim who were tied for 2nd at +2 headed into the second round. Alice Ziyi Zhao posted a solid 74 to lead the girls after round one with four players tied for 2nd at +3 trailing behind her.

Sunshine and quiet winds brought lower scores on Championship Sunday. Yoo and Kim battled it out for the runner-up finishes, both posting two solid rounds to maintain their second (Yoo) and third (Kim) place finishes. Han continued his terrific play during round two posting a final round score of one-under 71, with two birdies and an eagle to maintain his lead and take home his first 2-day Series victory!

Alice Ziyi Zhao dominated in round two posting three birdies and an eagle for a total of 69 on her final round to win the girls division by 8 strokes! Megan Carrigan took home her first second place finish posting two solid rounds of 75, 76 and Lisa Herman and Lauren Lee both tied for third.
