Making the Game Better for All Ages
The Southern California PGA Junior Tour’s mission is to create learning and playing opportunities for individuals of all ages and skill levels throughout Southern California. We aim to utilize golf as a vehicle to instill values such as integrity, honor, and patience. The SCPGA Junior Tour strives to foster and develop these values that will positively impact our member’s character on and off the golf course.
Established in 1948, the Southern California PGA now hosts one of the largest and most respected junior golf programs in the country. The SCPGA Junior Tour is a three-tiered program featuring the Toyota Tour Cup, the Players Tour and the Junior Development Tour. Together, these three tours administer over 290 tournaments annually for kids of all ages and skill levels. These events provide playing opportunities throughout Southern California, many of which are hosted by PGA facilities. The Junior Tour boasts countless alumni including Tiger Woods, Rickie Fowler, Lizette Salas, Charlie Wi, Brendan Steele, Danielle Kang, Jennifer Johnson, John Cook, Patrick Cantlay and many more.
The Junior Development Tour is a way for juniors to gain competitive golf experience in a more relaxed and fun environment. It is a way for junior golfers to gain knowledge of the rules, etiquette and competitive nature of tournament golf.
The Players Tour is the flagship level of our program. It is designed to serve juniors of a wide range of playing ability, from juniors that have advanced through the Junior Development Tour, to those looking to earn an invite into the Toyota Tour Cup Series.
The Toyota Tour Cup Series features the best Junior Golfers in Southern California hosted by some of the premiere facilities in the area.
Another memorable tournament is officially in the books as the Toyota Tour Cup rolled through Industry Hills Golf Club this past week. Adding an extra layer of challenge and excitement, this year’s event marked the return of the demanding 36 holes in one day format!

Catherine Shi secured her very first Toyota Tour Cup victory by being the only player in her division to go under par in her final round! Her stellar play allowed her to edge out Joanna Shin, Soleil Stovall, Phuong Quynh Nguyen, and Jinjutha Maneerat who all finished tied for second place. Congratulations to these girls for their stellar play!
The final round at Industry Hills built to a thrilling conclusion for the Boys Division. Just when the tournament seemed decided, Steve Yoo holed a miraculous ace on his final hole to force a three way playoff for the trophy with Thomas Little and Roman Luque. Showing serious composure, Luque closed the deal on the second extra hole, firing a pinpoint wedge shot inside two feet to set up a championship winning birdie and claim his first Toyota Tour Cup trophy.

Congratulations to our Girls Champion Tora Coggins on the amazing victory! A great second round of 2-under par that was capped off by back to back birdies secured Tora the champion title.
Another huge congratulations to Bowen Shao for earning the victory after two hot days in the desert! The New Zealand native went wire to wire on route to securing his victory out in the desert.

In the Girls Overall Division Kailie (Iris) Soong (69-73) went wire to wire this week going bogey free during her first round of the competition! Kaili remained consistent on day 2 to secured her the Championship. Grace Xu (73-70) and Yoojin Han (70-73) had a fantastic week finishing at 5-under par for the event to earn themselves runner-up honors.
In the Boys Overall Division, Aiden Han (72-70) went bogey free on the second round and emerged victorious in extra play to earn himself the Championship and Toyota Tour Cup exemption. Nathan Sok (70-72) would birdie the long par-5 18th hole to battle for a chance at the title and earning runner-up honors. Hanting Zhang (75-68) fired the tournament low round in the second round to finish in solo 3rd.

The Toyota Tour Cup wrapped up an exciting week of competition at The Golf Club at Rancho California, where the demanding course setup tested the field and ultimately crowned two brand new, first time champions!

In the Girls Division, the tournament came down to a dramatic finish on the final green. Jessica Yue secured her very first Toyota Tour Cup victory by sinking a clutch birdie putt on her 18th hole! Her stellar play allowed her to edge out Angelina Tao and Sarah Lee, who both put on a fantastic performance to finish just one stroke behind her in a tie for second place. Congratulations to these girls for their stellar play!
The Boys Division mirrored that final hole drama with a high stakes finish of its own. Dominic Wilson showed incredible composure under pressure, sinking a clutch par putt on the final hole to hold off a surging field and claim his very first Toyota Tour Cup win! He was chased to the very end by Aidan Chroman, who mounted a spectacular comeback by firing a low final-round score of 68 to take solo second place, while Lucas Buendia also put on an impressive show to finish alone in third place at three under par. Congratulations to all the boys on an awesome tournament!

The temperatures are rising but scores keep getting lower! The Toyota Tour Cup continued its summer season this week at Los Serranos Country Club.

Sophia Nguyen (68-72) went low in her first round and never looked back going wire-to-wire to capture her 1st victory on The Toyota Tour Cup! Phuong Quynh
Nguyen’s demonstrated consistency firing back to back rounds of 71 to earn runner-up honors at 6-under par. Layla Phillips (73-70) and Grace Mao (70-73) would both finish at a total of 5-under par to share 3rd place. Congratulations to all the girls for a phenomenal championship!
Yilang Chen (69-68) dominated the field being the only player to shot in the 60s in both rounds! His fantastic performance would earn him his 2nd Toyota Tour Cup victory. Jed Choi (72-69), Tommy Lavia (72-69), Luke Chang (71-70), and Binqi (Brian) Li (69-72) finished second place at 5-under par to cap off an amazing finish for the week. Congratulations to all the boys on a stellar tournament!
