Another exciting TTC in the books at Temecula Creek Inn! We got great weather and the course was in awesome condition!

Low scores filled the leaderboard for the boys this weekend! Jay Leng Jr. shot the tournament low round 66 in the first round, followed by a 69 to finish at -9 and capture his first TTC victory! J.J Nakao fired very solid rounds of 69-68 to finish 2 back, followed by Carson Kim at -6. Great playing boys!

Thank you so much to Temecula Creek Inn, Director of Golf Peter Wininger, Head Professional Steve Saunders, PGA, Tournament Director Shea Satterfield, and all their wonderful staff for hosting us again!

Thank you to our partners Toyota, Taylormade, and U.S Foods for all their continued support!

Karen Tsuru tames @redhawk_golf_course and claims victory (again)!
🏌️‍♀️
Needing to overcome a three-stroke deficit going into Sunday's final round, Tsuru sends a message by making birdie on the opening four holes to tie the lead with Anna Huang!
🔥
They battled all throughout the day matching birdie for birdie and were tied at -8 going into 16. That's when Tsuru separated herself from the pack making birdie to take a three stroke lead and was now setting her sights on breaking her own course record (65 in 2019).
⛳️
Charissa Shang posted a -2, 70 to vault up the leaderboard to capture solo third. In her first ever TTC event, Anna Huang held steady posting another round in the red to take solo second at -6 overall. In the end Tsuru made her only bogey of the day on 18, but was still enough to take the 🏆 adding to her amazing #toyotatourcup career!
⛳️
Thanks @redhawk_golf_course Head Professional, Jeff Sampson and all of the great staff!

The SCPGA would like to recognize Reina Kearns, PGA and SCPGA Jr Tour Alumna in honor of Black History Month for her achievements thus far in the golf industry.
.
Thanks to the initiative of a former babysitter, Reina Kearns began playing golf tournaments hosted by the Ventura County Junior Golf Association so that her babysitter would be able to watch Reina and her two kids at the same time. Reina then became an SCPGA Jr Tour member at 13 years old. She attended CSU: Long Beach from 2007-2011, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Later, she began her golf career at River Ridge Golf Club in her hometown of Oxnard, CA and enrolled into the PGM program in 2013. Two of Reina’s most notable accomplishments are:
.
2015 SCPGA Women’s Match Play Champion
.
2016 SCPGA Women’s Apprentice Play of the Year
.
Whilst working at River Ridge GC Reina had her first daughter in 2019, with whom she loves to spend time with along with her husband and 3 pugs. Administering tournaments is her favorite part about working in the golf industry.
.
Reina is currently the Assistant Golf Professional at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake (July 2020). She aspires to become a Head Golf Professional whilst attaining her LPGA Membership.
.
We asked Reina, what does it mean to you to be in this industry as one of the few Black Female PGA Members?
.
“I hope that other young women see that it’s possible to love what you do for a living. Their background, color of their skin or gender should be embraced because it makes them unique and adds that much more character to this wonderful organization. “ - Reina Kearns, PGA
