Kelly Xu & Ryan Voois Are The SoCal Jr Am Champs!

Kelly Xu and Ryan Voois are the 2020 Southern California Junior Amateur Champions at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon!

Co-hosted by the SCGA and the SCPGA, the Southern California Junior Amateur Golf Championship hosts some of the the best junior golfers in Southern California. Conducted over 36 holes of individual stroke play, this event has been held annually since 2015.

Xu of Claremont finished the event three strokes clear of the field at nine-under par, posting rounds of 66 and 69 for a two-day total of 135. With only a single bogey during the championship, Xu joins a prestigious list of past champions including Zoe Campos (2019), Brianna Chacon (2018,16), Serena Sepersky (2017) and Angelina Kim (2015).

Voois, of Ladera Ranch emerged victorious in the first playoff hole against runner up finisher, Matt Monheim of Stevenson Ranch. Draining a 40ft putt uphill to claim the title, Voois finished at five-under par, with rounds of 67 and 72 for a two-day total of 139. Joining Voois in the list of past champions which includes Sean Maruyama (2015),  Steve Sugimoto (2016),  Adam Matteson (2017), Ryan Smith (2018), and Ray Xiong (2019).
