Players Tour 2-Day at Arrowood

October 3 & 4, 2020 | Oceanside, CA | Arrowood Golf Course

With only three events left in the 2-Day Series, players are fighting for their chance at a 2021 Toyota Tour Cup Exemption. One of the final battles occurred at the beautiful yet challenging Arrowood Golf Course in sunny Oceanside. The course boasts penalty areas on every hole and a make-or-break shot on the 18th where many players witnessed their approach shots make a splash. The scoring average for the boys was a 78 for round one and the girls was a 76, compared to the course rating of 72 and 70, respectively.

After round 1, Francis Bautista was in the hunt for another 2-Day win with his 2-under round. William Ma was one back, Timothy Kelley and Baron Nguyen were close behind at even par. Derica Chiu was the sole girl under par with a 70 and Lauren Lee (2025) was in the hunt at even. Ten other girls were in great positioning at +2 or better.

Derica Chiu was able to secure the win with an even par 71 which consisted of 2 birdies and 2 bogies, making her the only girl with red numbers. Lauren Lee (Irvine) kept her positioning in second with her 1-over round and Kylie Lau slid into third with a 71 posted for her final round.

Justin Gill carded a clean 4-under 67, ending his round in style with a birdie on the final hole to bump him into T2. William Ma also earned T2 with his back-to-back 70’s. Francis Bautista managed to fend off his competitors to nab his second 2-Day win this year by carding a 69, finishing at 4-under for the weekend.

Thank you to the amazing staff at Arrowood Golf Course, including General Manager Tom Son, PGA, Tournament Director Mike Duncan, and the rest of the staff who made it a great weekend.
