Laurel Springs School

When junior golfer Bryant Hernandez wanted to experience the learning and playing opportunities offered only by the SCPGA’s Toyota Tour Cup Series, his parents realized he would require a more flexible solution to his education. His pursuit of becoming one of the best junior golfers in Southern California could lead to future college and career opportunities and he’d be on track for exposure to college recruiters and scouts. It would also mean he’d miss class if he were still enrolled in a traditional brick-and-mortar school.

Enter: Laurel Springs School. The flexibility available through the self-paced curriculum, a personalized calendar featuring blackout dates, and more than 160 courses that meet the requirements of the NCAA made the private K-12 online school an attractive option to Bryant and his parents. But, it was the recruitment support that truly persuaded them to enroll in Laurel Springs.

Full-time Laurel Springs students interested in pursuing collegiate athletics, and their families, receive ongoing access to members of the Student-Athlete Department who provide a continuous internal review process for college-bound student-athletes, guidance on NCAA eligibility, and work with recruiters, and resources specific to their unique search.

In his first year at Laurel Springs, Bryant raised his GPA, exceeding his performance at his previous school: he toured with the Toyota Cup and is currently considering several scholarship offers from NCAA Division I schools. SCPGA Junior is at the forefront of creating learning and playing opportunities for
juniors of all ages while supporting their athletic and personal development. That’s why we’ve partnered with Laurel Springs School as our official online education provider.

Laurel Springs offers full-time enrollment or individual classes taken on your own time, offering the flexibility our student-athletes need to balance touring with coursework. We’re confident our junior golfers will leverage this new partnership as they seek the expertise and resources needed to level up their education.
