Jr. PGA Championship/Toyota Tour Cup

July 27 & 28, 2020 | Riverside, CA | Canyon Crest Country Club

The shorter, narrowed-fairway course at Canyon Crest was our gracious host for our annual Jr. PGA Section Championship. This event is only open to Toyota Tour Cup Members and a lucky few Players Tour Members who qualified before the event.

After Round 1, the girls’ course average was 77.77 and the boys’ was 74.91.  Vanessa Zhang was the sole girl in the red numbers firing a 1-under 71. Following behind was Alice Zhao at +1 and Elle Laur at +2. Two boys led the way at -4, Kunyu Ren and Jacob Uyesato and right behind them were ten other boys at even par or better.

Following up her great first round, Vanessa once again finished under par with a 70 to take home the win at -3. She even had a triple bogey on 17! Kaili Xiao shot -2 for the day to bump her into 2nd (+2) and Bridget shot even par for 3rd (+5).

Jacob Uyesato shot a +1 round today to finish tied for second with Owen Manchester who shot -1 today to finish -3 for the event. Kunyu Ren kept his cool and shot a 70 to take home the win at -6.
