Davis Lee And Heejo Hyun Win The Final Fall Players Tour 2-day
BEAUMONT, California | The season ending Golf Pride 2-Day was held at Oak Valley Golf Club over the weekend. The series offers Toyota Tour Cup Exemptions to the top 3 boys and top 3 girls who accumulate the most points from the three multi-day events in the Fall. Not only that, thanks to our sponsor, Golf Pride, the top 3 boys and 3 girls from this weekend’s event will earn themselves a new set of Golf Pride Grips.
Oak Valley already boasts a high 73 course rating from the blues, add the 20 mph consistent winds and the players have a tough challenge ahead of them. On Saturday, the scoring average for both the boys and girls were 84.5. Breaking away from the pack was Davis Lee who fired a solid even par, 72. In the hunt were Colin Li at 2-over and Kunyu Ren and Ethan Hong at 4-over for the day. For the overall Girls Championship, Heejo Hyun and Amanda Tang were tied at the top with 3-over and Elina Kuang and Wanjia Han were right behind them at 4-over.
Mother nature gave the players a break and provided sun shine and a light breeze for the final round on Sunday. Finishing in third at 6-over for the weekend was Colin Li. With the only red number on the board, Kunyu Ren finished at 2-over for the weekend and Davis Lee kept his lead and took home the win at 1-over. Emily Jang and Joanne Lee tied for second with their 6-over finishes and Heejo Hyun just barely nabs the trophy by one stroke at 5-over.
Special thank you to Oak Valley Golf Club, Huey Yu, General Manager Eric Chen, Tournament Coordinator Reese Troublefield, and the rest of the amazing staff.
