2021 Players Tour Spring Series Championship

The (12-19) Spring Series Championship | May 22-23, 2021 | Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon | Beaumont, CA

That is a wrap for the 12-19 Spring Series Championship! Thank you to our members and families for your dedication, support, and great play in what were some tough windy conditions this past weekend. A special thank you to Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon and Tournament Director, Curtis Salley for hosting our Championship!

Known for its windy conditions, Tukwet Canyon did not disappoint! For the Girls 12-14 Division, Amelie Zalsman led the girls after round one firing a -3, 69 with a total of 6 birdies! In the end, Amy Seo and Jimin Nam both posted a solid even par second round to catapult themselves from T7th to T2nd to complete the tournament. Leaving room for Zoe Sprecher to post a final round 1-under par to move up five spots and to claim the overall victory with a two day total of 144!

The Girls 15-18 Division was led by Isabella Ly at even par after round one. Su-A Lim trailed at +1 and Grace Chuang trailed at +2, looking to make a move on Sunday afternoon. In the end, Vivian Chuang jumped from 4th place to 1st after round two, posting a second round 1-under par to claim the victory for the Girls 15-18! Ly took second place posting a solid 75 and Lim took third place posting a 76 in round two.

For the boys, none other than Baron Nguyen led the Boys 12-14 Division after round one with a four-stroke lead, posting a solid even par round. After the completion of round two, Lance Nguyen jumped from 6th to outright 3rd place and Andy Yu took home outright second place with a two day total of 150. Taking home, yet another Players Tour trophy, Baron Nguyen is the Boys 12-14 Series Champion winning by one stroke! This would be Baron’s 4th first place 2-day tournament finish this season!

Eric Eunchan Lee came out firing in the Boys 15-18 Division leading with 6 total birdies at 3-under! Joshua Chen and Miguel Ilas both trailed at 2-under going into round two. In the end, Evan Jiang catapulted from 6th to outright 3rd place posting another consistent even par round. Kyle Kolodziej posted a two day total of 1-under (143) to claim second place and Lee with another under par round, posting a score of 2-under on day two, took home the Championship trophy for the Boys 15-18 by four strokes!

Great playing to our members and to each of our Champions! Exemptions to The Toyota Tour Cup will consist of the Top 5 Boys 15-18, Top 5 Girls 15-18, Top 3 Boys 12-14, and Top 3 Girls 12-14 after the final points standing.

The (9-11) Spring Series Championship was hosted by the beautiful Cimarron Resort and contested on their executive course, the Pebble.

The players had a tough day ahead of them with winds gusting from start to finish and mental toughness would be the key to success.

After 18-holes, Jansen Baek took home the champion trophy by shooting a 7-over par, 63. Very close behind, David Xu took home second at 8-over, and Jeff Yu was our third place finisher with 9-over.

For the girls, Rina Kawasaki had the lowest round of the day with a very impressive 1-under, 55. Tied for second, Clairey Lin and Loren Fearence at 5-over, 61.
