#1. FIND A PGA COACH
PGA Coaches are PGA Professionals and Associates who work at your local golf courses and are specially trained to teach others to play golf! Get started on your journey with a coach who specializes in your experience and needs. These coaches are knowledgeable about the SCPGA and our programs, they can serve as a great resource for parents who are new to the game.
#2. LEARN YOUR WAY AROUND
Learn the basics that you need to know to start having fun out on the golf course in just 8 minutes by watching the video below. This tutorial covers important topics like rules, scoring, around the course, equipment & much more to help you make golf your thing.
#3. JOIN THE SCPGA JUNIOR TOUR
Established in 1948, the Southern California PGA now hosts one of the largest and most respected junior golf programs in the country. The SCPGA Junior Tour is a three-tiered program featuring the Toyota Tour Cup, the Players Tour and the Junior Development Tour (JDT). Together, these three tours administer over 290 tournaments annually for kids of all ages and skill-levels.
These events provide playing opportunities throughout Southern California, many of which are hosted by PGA facilities. The Junior Tour boasts countless alumni including Tiger Woods, Lizette Salas, Rickie Fowler, Danielle Kang, Collin Morikawa, Matthew Wolff, Patrick Cantlay, Angel Yin, Xander Schauffele, Haley Moore, and many more.
