SOMIS, CA | The first weekday event of the summer was held at the beautiful yet challenging Saticoy Club in Somis, CA. To put into words the challenge our Toyota Tour Cup Members were up against, the average score for boys was 80.5 and for girls 82 for day 1. The severely slopping greens, picturesque views, and tree-lined fairways made this Toyota Tour Cup stop one to remember.
The Monday leaders were Raymond Li shooting an even par-72 and Kylee Choi with a 2-over 74. Many players were close in the hunt as the day came to an end. The final round saw lower scores, even red numbers for the boys, dropping the field average to 78.5. The girl’s average dropped by one stroke as well, to 81. The two boys who finished their final round at 1-under both earned themselves a trophy. Darren Chiu finished +4 for the event for third, Jonas Appel at +2 for 2nd, and Raymond Li was able to hold off his lead and finish at +1. Yurang Li, who is a recent 2019 TTC exemption earner found herself taking home 3rdby shooting 75, 75. However, Caroline Canales birdied her 17th hole to send her into a playoff with Jasmine Koo after they both finished their rounds at even par. The two were sent back to the par-5 18th hole where Jasmine hit onto the green in two and buried her eagle putt to take the win.
Congratulations to all our top finishers!
