OCEANSIDE, California | The Toyota Tour Cup trailer packed up and headed to the coast for some cooler weather at Arrowood Golf Course. Formerly a military exclusive golf course; Arrowood boasts panoramic views of the San Luis Rey Valley and is home to “The Quandry”. This name is for the challenging final four holes at Arrowood which is ‘designed to test your golfing abilities amidst a breathtaking backdrop. Keep your wits about you and enjoy’. No lead will ever be safe coming through this stretch of holes.
Day one had four girls and 14 boys post rounds of even-par or better led by Anna Davis & Emily Lee (-3) and Benjamin Hong (-5). However, a stiff breeze off of the ocean proved a real challenge for these young athletes during the final round. Leo Cheng went out and carded an impressive -7, 64, which was just two strokes off the course record, and posted the early lead at -4 overall. The clubhouse lead seemed to change with each group that came in on both boys and girls competitions and was a very tight race in the end. However, Joshua Kwon & Jasmine Koo each posted -4, 67’s to grab hold of the lead and secure victory. This was Joshua’s first career TTC title and Jasmine’s second of the 2019 season. Second place honors went to Chanachon Chokprajakchat and William Sung just one shot back at -6 and Elise Lee and Kylie Chong both finishing at -1.
Congratulations Jasmine & Joshua!
