VALLEY CENTER, California – As summer nears its end, the Toyota Tour Cup rolls on. This week Woods Valley Golf Club was our generous host out in Valley Center. The hot and humid weather did not deter these young athletes from doing what they do best. The trade-off with the hot temperatures, was soft greens which made it great for scoring, and the kids took full advantage!
The overnight lead for girls was not safe as Lauren Cho and Dianna Lee posted early 69’s and anxiously awaited the final result. However, in the end it was Madison Le with a comfortable lead going into the 18th and had three putts to claim victory. She only needed one putt though en-route to a final round -2, 70 to capture her first career TTC title.
Red numbers were abundant in the afternoon wave with 20 boys carding rounds under-par on Sunday! Thru the nine-hole checkpoint, the leaders seemed on cruise control as Raphael and Darren were each at -7 for the tournament with just nine left to play. However, it was Hartanto holding steady down the treacherous back-nine at Woods Valley posting a -2, 70 for the day and -6 for the tournament to win by three strokes. This was also his first career TTC victory!
Congratulations Ryan and Madison!
Special Thanks Woods Valley Golf Club Tournament Director Annelise Frederiksen and all of their wonderful staff!
