The Toyota Tour Cup returned to the Temecula Valley at the gorgeous CrossCreek Golf Club. As soon as you drive through the gates and drop into the valley you are treated to a picturesque landscape of golf course and vineyard that runs through the property.
Round one saw some higher scores than players were expecting as CrossCreek is an extremely difficult course and prior knowledge of the layout is paramount. Gusty winds at the tail-end of a passing storm did not make things any easier on the players. Newcomer, Jack Dudeck, lead the way firing an even par, 71 through day one, while Yukino Yoshihara fired a 74 to hold a two stroke lead going into Sunday’s final round.
Sunday was a Jekyll & Hyde day for weather as the sun would poke out momentarily spreading some warmth on the field, but when the clouds covered it back up, the temperatures plummeted. Round two had some solid play despite cold and gusty conditions. Bo Jin fired the lone red number of the tournament with a -3, 68 en route to his first TTC victory of the 2018 season just edging out Dudeck by one shot with Harrison Kingsley taking solo third. Yoshihara was able to fend off the field carding another solid round of 76 and found herself back in the winner’s circle for the first time since the Toyota Tour Cup Championship in 2016. Serena Sepersky followed her opening 77 with another 77 to take second while Dana Choi fired the low round of the tournament (73) for girls to claim third.
Congratulations to our Champions: Bo Jin and Yukino Yoshihara!
