RANCHO MIRAGE – March 29th, 2018 is a day that SCPGA Junior Tour Member Rose Zhang will surely never forget. At the young age of 14, Rose competed in her first LPGA Tour tournament, and to add the icing on the cake, she carded an opening round of even-par 72, and a second round two-under 70, to make the cut in an LPGA MAJOR! Zhang, who is a current Toyota Tour Cup member, noted her progression through the SCPGA Junior Tour as an important piece of her golf career. Beginning in the Junior Development Tour and quickly advanced through the three-tier program, Zhang said, “It’s definitely surreal . . . to have the ability to play at such a high level with these LPGA pro’s . . . it’s just a blessing.” With the eyes of the golf world on her, Rose kept her composure and walked away from her first LPGA experience with a memory that she will undoubtedly cherish forever. The Southern California PGA looks forward to supporting Rose for many years to come along her journey in golf.
