This past weekend on the Celebrity Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort, the Toyota Tour Cup was presented with a tremendous test of skill and endurance under hot and uncharacteristically humid weather conditions. The Boys division played from 6,745 yards as the Girls division competed from 5,921 both days. The Celebrity Course presented immaculate conditions on the Clive Clark design.
Sean Yu from Beaumont, CA took first place honors as he fired 67 on Sunday to post a two-day total of 136, eight under par.
Yu had four birdies in his final nine holes and went on to respectively lead the boys division in holes under par totaling 11. Hunter Reed from Encinitas, CA posted a tournament total of 142 (-2) as he played his way into second place behind Yu. Matthew Giombetti from Los Angeles, CA totaled one under par (143) in the series event to edge out five players at even par for individual third place honors.
Calista Reyes from San Diego, CA won her first Toyota Tour Cup title at the age of 13 firing an opening round of 64 (-8). The San Di
ego native was a
total of seven under on all Par 4’s for the tournament and led the field in birdies with 13. Reyes started her round on Sunday with a seven shot lead and played her way into another sub-par round of 70 to post a two-day total of 134, ten under par. Haley Moore was under par for both days of
the series event and posted a two-day total of 141 (-3) to take second place honors. Moore has two wins this year on tour and has a scoring average of 72.3 thus far in the six events she has played this season. Mary Shin from Irvine, CA also finished under par totaling a 143 (73-70) to take individual third place for the girls.

The players will continue to compete over the fall to receive an invitation to the Toyota Tour Championship at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbra, CA. This weekend, the Toyota Tour Cup travels to the Westin Mission Hills Resort to the Gary Player Course for the 54-Hole Toyota Tour Cup Invitational.
