Bear Creek Golf Club | July 28 – August 1, 2019
Team Washington & Team Hawaii are the co-champions of the 2019 Girls Junior Americas Cup at Bear Creek Golf Club, each posting scores of six-over par, 654.
A single stroke separated the top four teams, providing ample drama down the stretch. After three rounds on the demanding Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, the tournament came down to the 54thhole, with Lana Calibuso-Kwee of Team Hawaii draining a 10-foot putt for birdie to tie Team Washington.
Team Mexico and Team Southern California finished in a tie for third place, both posting three-day totals of seven-over par, 655.
The individual medalist was also a tie between Lana Calibuso-Kwee of Team Hawaii and Cassie Kim of Team Washington, a testament to the outstanding competition from the field. Both Kwee and Kim finished the tournament at seven-under par, 209.
Congratulations to Team San Diego for being awarded the Joan Teats Award which is given to the team that best exemplifies the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, honesty, friendship and respect throughout the week.

The Southern California PGA is elated to host the Girls Junior Americas Cup (GJAC) for the first time since 2001. Eighteen Associations will compete in the 2019 GJAC Championship, a 54-hole of stroke play event to be hosted on the Jack Nicklaus Signature, Bear Creek Golf Club in Murrieta at the end of July!
The Girls Junior Americas Cup Matches bring girls together from various states and countries to form new friendships and cultivate mutual respect for each other and the game of golf. Team members will compete in a separate threesome (or foursome), with the three lowest scores from each team added together each day (highest score being discarded).
Founded in 1978, this annual Championship provides team members the opportunity to develop pride in self, team, state and country while competing alongside some of the best junior girls from each Association. Below you will find access to the schedule of events and the Girls Junior America’s Cup website.
