The Toyota Tour Cup’s last stop at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa not only happened to be one of the most scenic, it is also happened to be the fourth to last Toyota Event of the year. The race is on to secure a 2018 TTC card and the field did not disappoint. At the end of round one, Therese Warner fired a one-under, 69 with Charissa Shang following close behind with a 71. There were seven girls at 5-over or better. On the boys side, there were multiple under par rounds, Seldon Doyle led the way with a 68, and Leo Lu, Benjamin Hong, and Kevin Jiang all finished with a 1-under round. Day two was not as easy. With a massive fog delay, up to two hours for some groups, it would be a close fight to earn the trophies. Charissa Shang carded four birdies during her round to shoot 4-over and secure her first place finish. All the while, Mack Bailey rallied after a first round 76 to shoot an even round 70 to receive a T2 finish. Therese Warner shot a final round 77, the birdie on her final hole gave her the T2 finish with Mack. Connor Brown, who earned his entry from the qualifier, shot the tournament low of 67 which not only earned him a first place trophy, but his TTC exemption for the rest of the year and 2018. Seldon Doyle was a runner-up with an even two-day total, and You Seong Choi received third place with a one-over total. Congratulations to all of our players this weekend!
A special thank you to Ojai Valley Inn and Spa and all of their wonderful staff, our Rules Committee consisting of Gary Albin, Diane Wilson, and Gary Wilson, and our Starter, Mr. Steve Frank! As always, our Toyota Events would not be the same without our sponsors: Toyota, US Foods, Cobra Puma Golf, and TLink!
