Toyota Tour Cup At Cypress Ridge
TTC traveled to its northernmost point of the season at the beautiful, yet challenging, Cypress Ridge Golf Club. Tucked away in the farmlands of Arroyo Grande, this course features a mix of scenic views as well as tight fairways and narrow openings to reach greens.
The course proved a challenge for both boys and girls surrendering only one round under par by S. Pasadena’s Owen Calvin-Smith with William Villegas-Mellein just one shot back. Abigail Wiranatha led the way for girls with a one shot lead over Lauren Gomez and Ke Yang.
Calvin-Smith was just too consistent to be caught on the final day and carded a birdie on his 36th hole to finish at even par for the day and a -1, 143 for the tournament. Caroline Cantlay made a huge jump shooting even par on her final round which vaulted her into the early lead and had to sit and wait for the rest of the field to come in to determine her fate. When all players had come in she found herself still in the lead and earning her first career TTC victory.
Congratulations Owen & Caroline!
