
CARLSBAD, California – Winds were strong and wet for 2017’s first College Showcase. Toyota Tour Cup packed up the rain gear and took a trip down south to the beautiful Omni La Costa Resort and Spa.
Day one consisted of, continuous, 36 hole play. Clay Seeber and Adam Matteson were tied at the end of the day at -3 (141). Kento Yamawaki was right behind them firing an even par (144). For the girls, Morgan Goldstein had a two shot lead at -1 (143) with Nicole Whiston following closely behind (145).
Day two players came prepared to get wet and make birdies. Adam Matteson held onto his lead and won by a single stroke, shooting 214 (-2) for the 54 holes. Coming from behind claiming solo second was Tommy Stephenson. Stephenson shot a 70 (-2) on his final 18 to have a three day total of 215 (-1). Clay Seeber and Ashwin Arasu both tied for 3rd shooting a 216 for 3 days.
Morgan Goldstein led wire to wire shooting a 3 day total of (221) winning by 3 shots. Coming in second was Nicole Whiston who had a 3 day total of (224). In third place was Anna Dong shooting a total of (228). Congratulations to our TTC College Showcase La Costa champions!
