This weekend Toyota Tour Cup was honored to tee it up at one of Southern California’s true gems. Bear Creek Golf Club, completely private, was gracious enough to allow our best players to put their games, and minds, to the test. This challenging Nicklaus design demanded strategic ball placement and superior comprehension of their championship greens. Our players were able to prevail through the wind and heat to post very respectable scores.
The boys had a tight race but William Mouw Claimed the Toyota Tour Cup Victory shooting an overall 148. William closed with an impressive 73 (1 over par) and took his trophy in style. In solo second we had Christopher Trivell who shot 72 (even) day two which tied the boys overall low for 18 holes. Christopher ended with an overall 149, one shot behind our victor. Finally in third we had four boys tied at 150. Using the USGA recommended scorecard playoff, Jaden Park who shot 72 day two received the third place trophy.
Onto the girls we had something special take place. Despite the wind and tough conditions, Rose Zhang shot 69 (-3 under par). Not only did Rose do this one, she did it twice! Rose ended up with a two day total of 138 (-6 under par) shooting 69 both day. Rose was the only player out of the 81 players to shoot under par! Rose was on another level at bear creek and her 13 shot victory says it all. Coming in second place with an overall total of 151, shooting 72 (even par) the first day, was Serena Sepersky. Finally in third with an overall total of 155 was Amari Avery.
