OJAI, California – Spared by the devastating 2017 wildfires, this hidden gem is worth a weekend trip to play a round of golf and offers a wide variety of activities for all ages! If you are looking to go low on this shorter layout, think again. This George Thomas design (The Riviera, LACC) demands accuracy off the tee and controlling your spin into the greens. Par is surely a great score on this tough track.
Round one saw red numbers by both the boys and girls sides led by Eugene Moon (-5, 65), and Ashley Yun (-2, 68). However, several players were well within striking distance. Eugene was able to stay strong on Sunday and fended off several low numbers that came in ahead of him to claim his first TTC title. Timothy Jung finished at -2 to take solo second with Kamren James and Jeffrey Kwak tying for the 3rd spot at -1. Madison Le fired a -1, 69 to finish even par for the weekend and just edged out Jasmine Koo by one stroke. Catherine Rao took solo third. Shout out to our hole-in-one’s both coming on the par-3, 8th hole by Nalani Sam (Rd. 1), and Greyson Leach (Rd. 2).
Congratulations to our champions!
