TEMECULA, California | The first ever Sydnee Michaels Classic wrapped up at Temecula Creek Inn this afternoon. Michaels is a current LPGA player with a resume full of impressive feats such as being a three-time NCCA All-American and five career top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour. Her illustrious career has helped her garner nearly a million dollars in career earnings.
At the end of 36-holes, Joshua Koo of Cerritos and Serena Sepersky of Temecula were victorious. Koo finished with scores of 67-72 for a five-under, 139. However, his round was almost derailed late in his second round with a double-bogey on the par-4 13th hole. He was able to keep his composure and follow it up with key birdies on #14, #16, and #17.
Sepersky started the second round one back of the lead but finished her round with a three-stroke margin of victory with a 69-70 five-under, 139. Sepersky recorded five birdies and three bogies during her final round which help propel her to victory. This was Sepersky’s last junior tournament before heading to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she will continue her golf career.
Congratulations to Jasmine Koo, who recorded an ace during round one on hole #2 from 138 yards out!
