Toyota Tour Cup member Rose Zhang’s stellar play at the 2018 U.S. Girls Junior PGA Championship earned herself a spot on the U.S. Junior Ryder Cup team. There were two spots up for grabs, and she secured the second spot by finishing runner-up to Yealimi Noh. This is the 11th edition of the Junior Ryder Cup, and will be hosted by Europe at Disneyland Paris on September 24th-25th. Team U.S. is looking to extend their recent dominance in the clash between Europe and America by making it six straight victories. Other notable golfer who have participated in this prestigious event include: Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, Lexi Thompson, Suzann Pettersen, and Alison Lee.
Her appearance on the U.S. team is another accomplishment to her growing list of accolades. In addition to her runner-up finish at the 2018 U.S. Girls Junior PGA, Zhang won the event in 2017 and was a 2017 First Team Rolex Junior All-American. She also came out victorious at the 2018 ANA Junior Inspiration event qualifying her for the LPGA event the 2018 ANA Inspiration where she was able to make the cut. Zhang continues to impress and her golf game is only getting stronger.
