The Southern California Section of the PGA of America created the Southern California PGA Foundation to develop and administer junior golf programs as well as an increasingly wide array of other community services throughout the Section. The Southern California PGA Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and operates as a public foundation. With a geographic area that stretches from San Luis Obispo to the Tijuana Border, from the Pacific Ocean to the Nevada and Arizona borders, the Southern California PGA Foundation brings PGA Professionals and programs to the Southern California community in ways previously unrealized.
The Southern California PGA Foundation’s Grants and Scholarships Program is tailored toward at-risk and underprivileged youth in the Southern California community. The SCPGA Foundation’s sole focus is to assist those in need through a variety of options focused on the game of golf. The life skills associated with the game are unmatched and the SCPGA Foundation views each activity and event as key contributions to a junior’s overall mental, physical, and social development.

PGA Junior League Golf is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 13 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends.
Each team is captained by a PGA or LPGA Professional, who serves as the coach and is at the forefront of creating a welcoming environment for all to enjoy the game. PGA Junior League Golf utilizes a popular scramble format that creates a nurturing environment for learning and development – both on and off course.
With more than 2,900 teams and 36,000 participants in 2016 – and Ambassadors like Rory McIlroy and Michelle Wie – PGA Junior League Golf has wide-ranging appeal for both youth and their parents.
The Drive, Chip, and Putt Championship (DCP) is the ever-popular youth golf initiative re-created in 2013 by the PGA of America, The United States Golf Association, and the August National Golf Club. Designed to increase participation and interest in the game of golf, junior golfers from all over the United States compete in a series of qualifiers located in all 50 states. Each competitor is competing for a chance to reach the National Championship, hosted at Augusta National Golf Club the week before the Masters Tournament.
The SCPGA/TGA Golf Enrichment Program is an innovative and highly popular after school program that brings hands on, introductory golf experiences to juniors throughout Southern California. Our efforts emphasize lower income communities and school districts, SCPGA/TGA Golf Enrichment Program’s education, fitness and life skills training often have the most profound effect on kids and families. All of SCPGA/TGA Golf Enrichment Program’s instruction and programming are provided by PGA Members, Apprentices and other golf industry professionals. The SCPGA/TGA Golf Enrichment Program emphasizes relatable, interdisciplinary instruction that reinforces classroom learning in vital subjects, including Math, Science, and English.
Neighborhood Golf is a cornerstone in our Player Development efforts. Annually, we bring the opportunity to take complimentary golf lessons from a PGA Professional to Southern Californians attending community and sporting events. Each 15-20 minute golf lesson is taught in a relaxed and comfortable environment by certified golf professionals. Interested in having Neighborhood Golf out to your next event? SCPGA Link, in coordination with Neighborhood Golf, serves are the idea platform to grow the game of golf in our section. Over 50 golf professionals have joined the program with hopes of growing the game to those individuals looking for an opportunity to get started in the game we all love. SCPGA Link serves as the connection between our PGA Professionals and the Southern California consumers. The first lesson, taught by a certified golf professionals, is completely complimentary.
