RIVERSIDE, CA – The ClubsForeYouth initiative continued it’s momentum this afternoon, donating an additional five sets of Wilson Golf Clubs to very elated members of the girls golf team. With this donation the program has directly impacted 140 female youth golfers throughout the Southern California region. During a brief donation ceremony held outside the school, the players were asked how they felt about receiving their brand new sets.
Abigail Ascencio – “I feel absolutely terrific, because I’ve never actually owned my own set of clubs before. I’m happy that i get to do something that I really enjoy doing, I never knew that a had a skill until I began playing golf, and now I will have the opportunity to develop my game!”
Natalie Ramirez – “I feel beyond happy and excited now that I have a set of golf clubs that I can call my own! I am looking forward to finally getting to play with my own set instead of always borrowing the schools sets. I cant wait to try out the hybrid clubs, it’s so exciting to hit them pure and I cant wait to practice my tee shots for completion!”
Annabel Sanchez – “I honestly feel very happy and thankful to receive these new clubs because I’ve never owned my own set of clubs before. I’m looking forward to having my own set of clubs that I can continue to develop my skills with!”
Giuiliana Flores – “I feel absolutely great after receiving these Wilson Golf clubs! I have never owned a set before and now I cant wait to develop my mid-iron shots and lower my score this season!
Melody Flores – “It makes me feel so special to receive these brand new beautiful golf clubs. I’m looking forward to trying them all out, it is a very humbling day to be awarded this amazing opportunity, and I cant thank the SCPGA Foundation enough!”
Upon the conclusion of the ceremony, the girls golf coach, Craig Munsell, said, “It makes me very happy to see the girls receiving this donation today, I get very emotional seeing the reactions on their faces. I think it will give them a sense of pride to have their own sets of clubs that fit them, and I hope that they continue their passion for the sport of golf beyond their years here at Artesia High. I cant thank the SCPGA & LA84 Foundation’s enough, I think it’s a great program for the community and I want to express my deepest gratitude for the support of our school.”
