The 48th Annual Eddie Hogan Cup

One of 18 teams to compete in the tournament, the SCPGA Team members were Charlie Reiter (17) of Palm Desert, Joseph Chun (17) of Irvine, Clay Seeber (15) of Newport Beach and Alexander Yang (13) of Carlsbad. The temperatures were warm and reached 90 degrees both days with high humidity. The format was a combined low 3 out of the 4 for the team score plus individual. After day 1 Oregon Team #1 had a combined score of 217 (+1) and held a 1 stroke lead over Washington at 218. Southern California and Arizona were tied for third just 5 shots back at 223, the defending champion Hawaii finished the day at 225 in fifth place going into the Sunday final. On Saturday, Colton Cordingley from Idaho scored an ace on the 211 yard par-3 fourth hole.
In the end Oregon Team #1 proved to be too tough for the field by firing an incredible 5 under par 211 winning by an impressive 12 shots, their team total was 217-211 – 428 (-4).
Southern California earned second place with scores of 223-217 – 440 (+8) team Washington who was one shot back going into the final round finished 218-224 – 442 to earn the third place honors. Zachery Burkeholder from Arizona also scored an ace on the 197 yard par-3 seventh hole on Sunday.
Oregon #1 teammates Samuel Pyon who shot 69-71 – 140 and Craig Ronne who shot 73-67 – 140 were co-medalists at five under par, Zackary Kaneshiro (Hawaii) earned third place honors shooting 69-72 – 141. Southern California’s Charlie Reiter was (-1) for the event and tied for fourth place.
