MURRIETA, California – Team Toyota Tour Cup took a stop at The Golf Club of Rancho California this weekend in Murrieta. Saturday morning featured an early morning haze and light rain, making a lengthy course even longer. Playing through the damp conditions, the girls’ division showcased a 78 stroke average and the boys’ a 75. Standing out, however, Taehoon Song made the turn at 3-under and continued his strong play by racking up another three birdies on the back nine to ultimately shoot 5-under. Right behind him were Patrick Hong at 2-under and 7 other players tied for third at even par. For the ladies, Sabrina Nguyen kept a clean scorecard of pars and three birdies to finish with a 69. Chasing her in round two were Serena Sepersky at 2-under and Sherilyn Villanueva at 1-over.
Sunday morning was a picturesque final round with clear, sunny skies and mid-70’s temperatures and it was Sabrina Nguyen’s moment to shine. She followed up her stellar first round score with a 70 to finish 5-under for the weekend and nab her first Tour Cup. Serena Sepersky took home second place with her 3-under finish and both Emma Han and Sherilyn Villanueva tied for 3rd at 2-over.
Three boys were tied for first at 141, Benjamin Scott, Taehoon Song, and Seung Ho Yoon. For the first hole, Taehoon and Seung Ho made off with pars and Benjamin was out with a bogey. After an additional 5-holes, Taehoon Song came out on top.
Congratulations to all of our medalists and we will see you all at the next Tour stop!
